The Buchu trail is open from 6am to 6pm
The Buchu trail is 8km loop from the trail head, back to the trail head.
An average hiker will complete the trail in 1-2 hours, with a few stops along the way.
An average mountain biker will complete the trail in 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, with a few stops along the way.
Checking in and out helps us keep track of who is on the farm at any given time. This is important for everyone’s safety, as it allows us to know how many people are on the trail, when they arrived, and (if and) when they have left.
It also confirms that all visitors have paid the required fee and are not trespassing on private property.

After your hike or cycle, you’re welcome to join us in the tasting room for a glass of wine, take a few bottles home, or grab a bottle and enjoy a refreshing dip in the swimming pool.

Strictly no dogs allowed. This is a working farm with free-roaming dogs that may attack visiting dogs.
Please respect the farm by leaving footprints only.
No picking of fynbos or disturbing nature.
Please stick to the marked trail at all times.
Make sure you have enough water with you.
Hikers and cyclists must be mindful of one another.
No fire making or smoking.
Be aware of snakes.
If you encounter baboons, please turn around immediately.
This is a private hiking and/or mountain biking trail. Right of admission is reserved.
Non-paying users will be regarded as trespassers and may be removed from the farm.

Any party, including children under supervision, using this trail does so entirely at their own risk and indemnifies the owner and/or lawful occupiers of the property known as Oude Compagnies Post against any and all claims, liability, loss or damages of any nature, suffered by such party or any third party as a result of any act or omission while on the property.
