Are you open on public holidays?
Absolutely! We are open and ready to welcome you on public holidays.
When would the winemaker (Dirk) lead or be at a wine tasting?
Dirk is usually present on the farm most days and weekends. If you’d like to book a private tasting with Dirk, please feel free to email us at wine@oudecompagnies.com. We will be delighted to arrange a special tasting for you.
How can I book a special mountain top tasting?
To book a special mountain top tasting, simply contact us to make an appointment. These tastings are available by reservation only, and we recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred date and time.
What is the cost of the mountain top tasting?
The mountain top tasting experience is priced at R350 per person. This includes the guided walk, picnic, and wine tasting amidst the fynbos.
When are the mountain top tastings available?
Our mountain top tastings are available from September to April, exclusively in the afternoons.
How many people can participate in a mountain top tasting?
Our mountain top tastings are ideal for groups of 10 to 30 guests. Whether you’re planning a gathering with friends, a team-building event, or a celebration, our mountain top experience offers a memorable setting for your group.
What else is being farmed?
In addition to our vineyards, we also farm Buchu and Proteas.
Do you have hiking trails?
Yes, our hiking trails are free to use for guests staying in our accommodation. For general public, you can view more here.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs on our premises. As a working farm, we already have our own dogs, and for the safety and comfort of all our guests, we kindly request that no additional pets be brought along. Thank you for your understanding!
Is the farm wheelchair friendly?
We regret to inform you that our farm is not wheelchair-friendly. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
What are the wine tasting hours at Oude Compagnies?
Our wine tasting hours are from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesday to Saturday, and from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sundays. We are closed on Mondays.
How many wines will be included in the tasting?
During the wine tasting, you will have the opportunity to sample a range of 5 to 10 wines, depending on their availability.
What is the cost of the wine tasting experience?
The wine tasting experience is priced at R100 per person.
Do I need to make a reservation for the wine tasting?
Reservations for the wine tasting are not mandatory. However, we recommend calling ahead or booking online if you plan to visit with a larger group or during peak times, as it will ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for you and your guests.
